Christmas the time of joy and thanksgiving has once again come to us. As christens all around the world rejoice in the greatest mystery of their faith, the birth of Jesus Christ. CGTTI OBA NSW, once again celebrated their annual Christmas celebration at Berima, a significant landmark of Christians. Thank you for your participation at the Annual Get together last night at Spoons Restaurent, Blacktown. Those of you who were present will no doubt had a enjoyable time. More than anything else it was an opportunity for us to meet up with everyone and refresh our memories of good times in the past.


It was a great event organised by committee with 56 member families attended. I am sure all the Ladies, Gentlemen and children had a enjoyble night and hope you did not missed.

The History of Millwright

The millwright of the 17th and 18th Centuries was quite different from the millwright of today.


A millwright originally was a specialized carpenter who had working knowledge of drive-shafts, bearings, gearing and mechanical belts . The "mill" in millwright refers to the genesis of the trade in building flour mills, sawmills, paper mills and filling mills powered by water or wind.

Another succesful task completed by members and their families of CGTTIOBANSW on 17th Aug 2013. The Lankarama Buddhist Temple is a main community point in Sydney with great support of Sri Lankan community. Temple has been developed in many way throughout past years and still lot more to do. Every year Sri Lankan community get to getrher and organise food fair twice a year to raise funds for the temple. With other organisations, CGTTIOBANSW took part  a vital part to raise funds.

German Technical Training Institute Awards Ceremony

On 5 March, 2013 - Deputy German Ambassador, Mrs. Marja Einig, was the Guest of Honour at the Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI) awards ceremony. The event recognized the efforts of 239 successful trainees. CGTTI issues certification in nine different trades, and for the first time, also presented the National Diploma in Automobile Technology to 22 trainees.
